I miss....

my children! I never knew that I could miss them as much as I do right now. My babies have been in NC with my mother for the bulk of the summer, which was a well deserved break for my husband and I but Lord knows that I didn't realize how much I would miss their little faces.

I miss their voices and foot steps running down the hall

I miss their greetings when I walk in the door

I miss their smell after a long day in the sun, ready to be bathed and refreshed ... oh my little ones.

I miss preparing their meals and reading them bed time stories

I miss breaking up 'fights' between the boys over Thomas the tank engine toys I miss hearing Mommy, mommy over and over again.

I miss my babies more then I could imagine and don't understand how any true parent would abuse the lives they bring into the world. Mistreat them and give them away. I don't understand how a woman could allow a child to develop in her womb close to her heart and then let the cares of this world treat that precious gift with little to no regard. With my children away I have a new resolve to be a better mother.

I vow to be more patient and understanding, gentle and caring. I promise to take out time to read that story two times if they ask me to. I miss my children and because of their absence I think I'm going to be a better mother. In their absence I've learned a lot about myself and being the mother of those three is who God made me! I'm counting down the day until my flight out to retrieve my reason for being...

My three little Brown babies... they'll be home soon.

Until next time...

VACATION: Cali here we come...

Hey Y'all:

While watching NickJr last night a song came on about going on a trip.

Erick asked me if we went on vacation yet and I told him no, but we are going on vacation in April.

"where mommy" he asked
"to California" I said
"California that's great" he said
"where's California?" he then asked

He was too cute with his mock excitement about a trip to a place he didn't know anything about. I explained where California is and that we were going to take a plane to get there. He was really excited to hear that we would go to the airport and wanted to know if we were going after school today. After that bit of the discussion he thought about California some more and then it clicked, to him California is where Red Car (Lightening McQueen from Disney's Cars) lives. It's where the Piston Cup race was held!

"Mommy can we see Red Car" he asked.
"Yes we can. Mommy is going to make you a count down calendar so you can count the days until our trip."

Needless to say my little boy is really excited about our upcoming California vacation to Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, Legoland, Sea World and Universal Studios! I think I'm more excited though as he's much older this time around for a Disney trip and will really enjoy himself.

Here is the calendar I created... whatchathink?

Disney's Dreamers Academy 2010

Hey Y'all:

Guess who's been invited as media to attend Disney's Dreamers Academy 2010?????

You got it!
MrsDeveter is off to another fabulous Disney Journey!

Disney's Dreamers Academy has been going strong for 3 years and just in case you haven't heard of it... The Disney Dreamers Academy is a partnership between Steve Harvey and Walt Disney World Resort. 100 High School students were nominated by parents, teachers, friends or guardians who wrote essays about their need for inspiration and direction in achieving their dreams. The program’s aim is to expose teens to creative and nontraditional career opportunities in everything from culinary arts to animation, set design and show production to the business of sports, while inspiring them to exceed the boundaries of their dreams and imaginations!

Last year I was blessed to attend and I'm so excited about this year.
Disney's theme for 2010 is all about celebrating the volunteer spirit of families. You know this is right up my alley right? Remember my post all about MLK
Day and my Disney Give a Day, Get a Disney Day participation? No. well check it out here.

The 2010 Academy will not only be a motivating and inspiring experience for the attending Dreamers but they will be encouraged to share what they learn with communities and help others realize their dreams.

Isn't this just WONDERFUL? For more information on Disney's Dreamers Academy click here. To check out my blog from last years Academy check out Disney's Family Channel on BlackPlanet.com.

I so can not wait to share all my wonderful pictures and this exciting journey with you!

Until next time...
