Twin Tuesday: Fixin' It

Hey Folks:

My daughter has a head full of beautiful locks.
I love putting cute braids, beads, barrettes and bows in it.
It takes a while to do but it's always a joy.
I love doing her hair so I'm sure you could image the horror when she came home yesterday and I found her like this...

When she walked into the house the first thing I noticed was her hair or rather the lack thereof! Here's how the brief conversation went.

Me: Mama what happened to your hair????
Leah: MYLES CUT IT!
Me: WHAT??? Myles why did you cut your sister's hair???
Myles: I was fixing it!
Me: Leah were is your hair?

She goes to her room and pulls her two locks (with beads still attached) out of her dresser draw and presents them to me!

I am floored y'all, I cannot believe:
  1. That he cut her hair
  2. He had scissors that close to her face
  3. She let him!
As sassy and self assured as she is; how in the world did she allow him to do this to her beautiful locks. Who told him that her hair needed fixing and WHERE THE HECK WAS THEIR DAD????
I am  not sure how long it will take her hair to grow back and I don't know how long it will take me to get over this loss.
Who has a 3 yr old with bangs?
ME

This is truly the life of a twin mom! I love them but Lord knows they cause me to pause! Often.

Here is a picture of her full head of hair pre Myles the barber!

How would you handle this situation? I yelled at everyone (husband included), called my mother and told on them and almost cried.

Until next time...

Twin Tuesday: Permanent Marker

Hey Y'all:

A funny thing happened last night. Leah and Myles got a hold to a black sharpie! Now you all know that Myles is our Picasso in the making right? So you wanna know what happened?

Twin Tuesday: Sista Friends

Hey Y'all:

In 2000 I was employed at AOL and met a few life long friends, one of them was Nicole Perez. Nicole isn't just my friend, she's my Puerto Rican Sister. I was the witness at her wedding and she was one of the first people I told that I was pregnant with Erick. Now we share something that just can't be made up. We both have twins, born 4 months to the day of one another and catch this, they are both boy girl twins and the girls were born (pull out by c-section) first!

Not sure how we have so much in common but I guess it was destiny that we are in each others life. When I found out that I was having twins I didn't know how to tell her. I didn't know if she was just going to be happy for me or if she was going to feel like I was stealing her thunder. It was so odd the feelings I had. When I finally told her she couldn't have been happier for us. When we found out that we were having a boy and a girl as well I just knew she would be a little taken aback, but again she was so excited that our children would grow up together and that Jayla and Leah would be Sista friends just like their moms.

Unfortunately we don't get to see one another that much because of the distance between us. But when we do get together; like we did for Jayla and Jayden's 2nd birthday, it's always fun! Her twins are way bigger then mine but they played well together and will be close friends as they get older. I can't wait until the summer when we'll go visit them in CT and have some pool fun!

Nicole, though all of our ups and downs I just want you to know publicly that I love you and cherish our friendship!

Well that's the mush for the day.
Until next time...

Twin Tuesday: Twin Love

Hey Y'all:

I know it's not Tuesday! I've been off since Thanksgiving but I'm going to get back into the swing of things!

So for this twin Tuesday post I have to talk about Leah and Myles' love for one another. It's pretty amazing how close they are but how completely different they are as well. Leah is totally the nurturer. Sometimes I say she's Myles mommy! She just loves on him so much. If she hears him crying she'll stop what she's doing and say "why crying" and go find him to figure out what's wrong. The other night we couldn't find both pacifiers.... she had one in her mouth but he didn't and he was whining. She looked at him, then looked at me, took her pacifier out of her mouth and gave it to him! He'd NEVER do that for her.

He will however feed her!

One morning as Erick and I were preparing to leave for the day, Myles woke up. I figured he was hungry so I set him up with some oatmeal and finished getting myself and Erick ready to head out. Well just before we were leaving Leah woke up, she walked over to Myles in his high chair said hi to him and he proceeded to feed her. I couldn't believe it. He didn't think about it... he just picked up his spoon got some oatmeal on it and gave it to his sister. It was just too darn cute and of course I didn't have the camera out because I was heading out the door. They both take really good care of one another and love each other to pieces.

Twin love is pretty amazing.
Any other parents of multiples reading? Leave me your cute stories, I love to read them!
